long overdue
OMGOSH!!! alot has happened since my last blog posting. Tax season has come and gone!! Whoo Hoo. We moved during tax season (thanks to my wonderful husband) taking the kids out of St. Theresa's, and moving them to public schools at Bryant. They really seem to like it and I feel more comfortable that they will get a quality education. and I don't have to pay for this one. Mike and his sister Amy do not talk anymore, and we never get to see our niece anymore. :( sad about that... even cried about it cause I miss her so much...nice. Ivory swam on a swim team this summer (GO BARRACUDAS) and loved it, I enjoyed it cause watching her cracks me up she a character plus I met a new friend. hoping I can keep this one around cause you know Mike and I do not have any friends. Cory has been running all summer cause he made the cross country team for Bryant. I think he's going to like it. we moved into a very nice place that has property and also a shop for Mike. Mike and I seem to be doing pretty well for ourselves. right now we are just watching our kids grow up, and that's all I can ask for. really enjoying life right now...
until next time!!!
until next time!!!

House looking
Well we were supposed to go look at a house today, and now since we can't I'm thinking that it just wasn't meant to be. God must have other plans for us because we have tried to move twice now and we are starting to feel stuck! I don't like the feeling, and prayer is all I have everyday on my way to work I am praying that today someone decides they want to sell their house and that it is at least a manageable house within our price range! My fingers are crossed just hoping for a crack in the door so I can peak in and like what I see.
Let's hope

Updates
Well we have a boat it only came a day late. I had wanted it on Mikes birthday but we bought it Friday and will pick it up tomorrow. Can't wait to take it out on the lake this weekend. Also just found out that Mikes truck is going to cost $1000 to fix. UGH!!!! sometimes you got to bite the bullet and spend the money. That's a lot especially since we just bought a boat
Ivory is looking better on her legs from the spider bites. Need to take her to a follow up appointment on wednesday hopefully they say that everything is good. She took the last bit of the nasty smelling antibiotic this morning. She was glad that was over!

here it is 2011
With all the weather and all, I have really struggled with getting the house ready to sell. we are wanting to move to Bryant, benton maybe. We have packed up most things that we know we are not using, and Mike has been working really hard on making the house look nice for people that want to see it. thank gosh for a husband like him. he can really do it all. tomorrow the weather is supposed to get bad, and I will like most people be watching the news and thinking about coming in to work. unfortunatly I cant do a lot of work from home stuff, so I will try really hard to come in. if at all possible. the kids are ready they started getting their stuff last night ready just in case, so they can play in it. I wonder what happened to us when we were little we lived to go outside and play, now I am out there in the snow for 10 min. tops and I am running to get inside. it's just isn't the same either. I will stand in the door way to watch the kids sometime and really love the sight of the snow, but I can't bring it to myself to go out there with them and play. the kids wanted me to make ice-cream from snow last time, so I am ready this time i have a recipe. 2011 here we are a year of bad weather. hopefully the weather will cooperate with us and things won't be all that bad

Happy Halloween to All
Halloween this year was great for us, however I did not help my kids school with their carnival, but we really had a blast. This year was quite a conservative year for me. I was a Sshining Star, Ivory was Ariel, and Cory was a Bloody Sport although everyone called him Jason. he ended up just being Jason by the time the night was over with. walking beat all of us up, and Mike let me skip church and sleep in Sunday. then it was off to cleaning the entire house. this weekend is Youth Hunt, we are all going as a family down there. Hopefully my Son will kill a deer.

UPDATES
Since it has been awhile that I have posted I knew you were waiting for me to give a little update about what has been going on in the Shields Family Household.
1st I will say I want to MOVE Move from my old home to a new place. preferable in the Bryant, Benton area. alright done.
Ivory - she hates her teacher and wants to go back to CDC PRE-K. I don't blame her things were so different then. Ivory didn't have many worries back then. but now she actually has to sit in a chair, wait her turn to speak, and plus she feels like her teacher hates her. the teacher is OLD and Ivory will just have to understand that she's not the boss of everything. I have told her that she needs to listen to her teacher and be respectful of her wishes in the classroom. and I also told her that there is no changing teacher just because she doesn't like them. tough. we have gone 4 days now with her not pulling an apple from her classroom. BIG for her she's been pulling 3-4 a day. tried for a phone conferance with her teacher for parent teacher conferences, and the teacher called me back requesting that I speak to her in person. that's Friday(can't wait for that). Right now I have this saying I say to Ivory before she gets out of my van.. 1. Zip it 2. always listen to your teacher, and be nice to Mrs. Davidson. I am not sure if that's what has been working or grounding her from watching TV everytime she comes home from school and had to pull an apple. either way we'll get this resolved.
Cory - Still have the problems with Spelling but things are getting better. he has been in football since school has started and he seems to like it and actually care about it. he cried one day after the game cause he didn't get to play at all. and I told him he should talk with the coach. that made him look better to the coach as he was a kid that really wanted to be on the team, and play. since that the coach has really been working with Cory and making him feel more comfortable with getting hit and his fear of that seems to be going away. We have also been trying different technics with him at home on spelling and this latest one I think he likes. Thanks Nancy H. Testing him verbally and making him write it down and then grading it. he really seems to like. I just hope it reflects on his spelling test.
Mike - My husband is really trying to get me to come alot this year during hunting season. I have always stayed home with Ivory and let the boys do their thing, but he's been really asking me to come this year, and Ivory really wants to go hunting with Daddy. So I thought that during Youth Hunt Weekend I would give this thing a try luckily there is no sleeping in a tent we'll be in a camper. I may even have pictures of this event.

Ivory's 1st day of Kindergarten
Well Monday August 16th was the BIG day!! she started Kindergarten @ St. Theresa's.I think she was ready. I wasn't. I just can't believe that she's getting bigger everyday. with her being in a classroom setting I can notice a change in her behavior. she seems to be calming down a little and all this week she's been raising her had at home to ask for something. Come Thursday I think taking no naps really hit her. she was in bed and asleep by 6 last night, and slept all night till this morning. I had anticipated on walking her in all this week but on Thursday morning she said it's ok momma you don't have to walk me in, just drop me off. :(. so Cory walked her into the library for me where she sat until the bell rang for her to go to class. I also dropped her off again this morning, man that didn't last very long at all.

4th of July 2010

Well it's totally been awhile since I have posted on here, so let me give you an update on what's been happening. nothing really with my family. Mike and I have been helping Barbara and Steve since she came home from the nursing home February, Steve became emotionally drained and went into the hospital in June. Mike and I have seemingly grown as a couple we are really understanding one another much better. we are each others friend and confidant. I don't know how my life would have turned out if I hadn't met Mike. I am sure it would have been a struggle, as he's always been there in my life of success. I truly thank him everyday. the kids had a blast popping fireworks I had a few scares but I got over them those big fireworks really scare me I think they will turn over and then pop all around my kids and I. Dana got to go with us this time, she;s really struggling to fit in somewhere. I really like for her to stay with us, she just needs a little love. Today is back to work day though, I only have 2 days to work and then I am off for 4 days. YEAH~ I really need the time off. I want to take the kids places this summer I have never got to take off this time of year, and do things with them. It's going to be fun. Thursday we are going to Fayetteville, AR and enjoying some time up there with my kids, (husband still has to work) then Friday lunch with Dad. this weekend I have splashzone with some poeple from work, and some people that used to work at my work. Of work, it's fine just daily struggles that I am sure most everyone goes though. My 4th was great, and look forward to the next outing. IVORY'S BIRTHDAY July 28th.

Wow
Halloween was fun, my husband walked the kids around, and I sat at the house with Family and handed out candy. I have never done that and it was a blast. I really enjoyed. after the kids were done trick-or-treating we went over to some friends house, and spent the rest of the night there. the kids had fun over there they have all their friends there to play with and my friends are so great. I enjoy every moment with them.
Speaking of friends. Susan, Johanna, not sure what I would do if you guys wern't in my life. everyday that I think about friends I think about ya'll. some people act like your friends, and I can truly tell who they really are. so thanks guys you brighten up my life.
Today is Japaneese, and I can't wait I love Benihana's it's my favorite place in the city to eat, but I only get to eat lunch there, but it's great food.
now it's work time and I have ton's of scanning to do so, work work work all day long

hard times

Ivory is having a Halloween Party today, and yesterday as Mommie duties I needed to make some treats for her to bring. I thought and thought and found some rice crispie snakes. Looked so easy, but let me tell you it's hard. my dang snakes wouldn't stay together, and my husband said that they looked like well better not say what he said they looked like. but I went back to the store, and bought more stuff, and came home made them again, and just left them in the pan. That's what she brought this morning. That was my first time ever making rice crispies and it was so darn hard. so the people that have already perfected them. I could use some pointers.
Today tomorrow Rain Rain. I sure wish the rain would go away, and at least just have cold weather. can't caount on it being warm this time of year, but I sure can wish that the rain stops sometime. Halloween is going to be flooded, and we might have to dress up as rescue people.
Speaking of halloween Costumes. I am going to be this year a football yep I said it a football. so last night I cut out me costume from a cardboard box, and it lookes cool and all, but man I forgot that I had to color it, and two hours later. almost finished. pictures are to come following Halloween night.
Peace Karrie

New things daily
I will be using this blog to update what is going on with my family to rant and rave about them and to let it all out. I will try and not to hurt people's feeling but since I have no one else in person to let my feeling out too, then this is where I will do it. I may on occasion gripe about other things. I guess what I am trying to say is Sorry in advance
Wednesday October 28th
Missed my neice's Birthday Monday, I was totally out of it that day. had it on my mind but just never called her. it's my sister's daughter, and my sister and I don't have that great relationship that sister should have. we are in our own families now, and have gone different ways.
