Happy Halloween to All

Halloween this year was great for us, however I did not help my kids school with their carnival, but we really had a blast. This year was quite a conservative year for me. I was a Sshining Star, Ivory was Ariel, and Cory was a Bloody Sport although everyone called him Jason. he ended up just being Jason by the time the night was over with. walking beat all of us up, and Mike let me skip church and sleep in Sunday. then it was off to cleaning the entire house. this weekend is Youth Hunt, we are all going as a family down there. Hopefully my Son will kill a deer.

UPDATES

Since it has been awhile that I have posted I knew you were waiting for me to give a little update about what has been going on in the Shields Family Household.

1st I will say I want to MOVE Move from my old home to a new place. preferable in the Bryant, Benton area. alright done.

Ivory - she hates her teacher and wants to go back to CDC PRE-K. I don't blame her things were so different then. Ivory didn't have many worries back then. but now she actually has to sit in a chair, wait her turn to speak, and plus she feels like her teacher hates her. the teacher is OLD and Ivory will just have to understand that she's not the boss of everything. I have told her that she needs to listen to her teacher and be respectful of her wishes in the classroom. and I also told her that there is no changing teacher just because she doesn't like them. tough. we have gone 4 days now with her not pulling an apple from her classroom. BIG for her she's been pulling 3-4 a day. tried for a phone conferance with her teacher for parent teacher conferences, and the teacher called me back requesting that I speak to her in person. that's Friday(can't wait for that). Right now I have this saying I say to Ivory before she gets out of my van.. 1. Zip it 2. always listen to your teacher, and be nice to Mrs. Davidson. I am not sure if that's what has been working or grounding her from watching TV everytime she comes home from school and had to pull an apple. either way we'll get this resolved.

Cory - Still have the problems with Spelling but things are getting better. he has been in football since school has started and he seems to like it and actually care about it. he cried one day after the game cause he didn't get to play at all. and I told him he should talk with the coach. that made him look better to the coach as he was a kid that really wanted to be on the team, and play. since that the coach has really been working with Cory and making him feel more comfortable with getting hit and his fear of that seems to be going away. We have also been trying different technics with him at home on spelling and this latest one I think he likes. Thanks Nancy H. Testing him verbally and making him write it down and then grading it. he really seems to like. I just hope it reflects on his spelling test.

Mike - My husband is really trying to get me to come alot this year during hunting season. I have always stayed home with Ivory and let the boys do their thing, but he's been really asking me to come this year, and Ivory really wants to go hunting with Daddy. So I thought that during Youth Hunt Weekend I would give this thing a try luckily there is no sleeping in a tent we'll be in a camper. I may even have pictures of this event.

Ivory's 1st day of Kindergarten

Well Monday August 16th was the BIG day!! she started Kindergarten @ St. Theresa's.I think she was ready. I wasn't. I just can't believe that she's getting bigger everyday. with her being in a classroom setting I can notice a change in her behavior. she seems to be calming down a little and all this week she's been raising her had at home to ask for something. Come Thursday I think taking no naps really hit her. she was in bed and asleep by 6 last night, and slept all night till this morning. I had anticipated on walking her in all this week but on Thursday morning she said it's ok momma you don't have to walk me in, just drop me off. :(. so Cory walked her into the library for me where she sat until the bell rang for her to go to class. I also dropped her off again this morning, man that didn't last very long at all.

4th of July 2010

Well it's totally been awhile since I have posted on here, so let me give you an update on what's been happening. nothing really with my family. Mike and I have been helping Barbara and Steve since she came home from the nursing home February, Steve became emotionally drained and went into the hospital in June. Mike and I have seemingly grown as a couple we are really understanding one another much better. we are each others friend and confidant. I don't know how my life would have turned out if I hadn't met Mike. I am sure it would have been a struggle, as he's always been there in my life of success. I truly thank him everyday. the kids had a blast popping fireworks I had a few scares but I got over them those big fireworks really scare me I think they will turn over and then pop all around my kids and I. Dana got to go with us this time, she;s really struggling to fit in somewhere. I really like for her to stay with us, she just needs a little love. Today is back to work day though, I only have 2 days to work and then I am off for 4 days. YEAH~ I really need the time off. I want to take the kids places this summer I have never got to take off this time of year, and do things with them. It's going to be fun. Thursday we are going to Fayetteville, AR and enjoying some time up there with my kids, (husband still has to work) then Friday lunch with Dad. this weekend I have splashzone with some poeple from work, and some people that used to work at my work. Of work, it's fine just daily struggles that I am sure most everyone goes though. My 4th was great, and look forward to the next outing. IVORY'S BIRTHDAY July 28th.
